Jewellery Aftercare Advice

Jewellery Aftercare

It is important to know how to take care of your jewellery as it is something you will maintain for a lifetime of wear. Like any product, jewellery is subject to constant wear, exposed to stress, chemicals, knocks, bumps and bangs.
This is all a natural part of wear but by following these easy steps you can help maintain its longevity.

Follow These Easy Steps

Taking care of and cleaning your jewellery

Clean your jewellery using a few drops of gentle degreasing solution in warm water, followed with a lint free cloth to enhance its shine and prevent any cloth fibres damaging the ring. We recommend a baby soft toothbrush to get in and around the diamonds during cleaning. Your body produces natural oils and sweat. If you don't have a gentle degreasing solution, clean your jewellery with warm soapy water regularly to keep it clean and sparkling to its full potential. Every diamond purchase from Aurora Grace comes with a complimentary Diamond Dazzle Stick, and all jewellery orders come with a complimentary polishing cloth.

Avoid using bleach and abrasive chemicals when cleaning your jewellery. You could damage the metal and your rings finish.

Keep your jewellery stored safely

Keep all items stored in a clean dry place when you are not wearing them. Ideally with compartments to stop them from scratching each other.

When wearing and removing your ring, always hold the ring at the band, be careful not to apply pressure to the central diamond. Doing this can cause pressure on the diamond and over time to become loose and slipping out of its setting, also leaving it exposed to claws catching and losing the central diamond.

Complimentary Check

Have your jewellery checked annually, free of charge, for loose prongs and stones, especially if you wear your jewellery daily.

Let us professionally check the settings are all secure and that the metal is still in its original position to prevent any diamond or stone loss and potential damage from occurring.
